(St. Louis Post Dispatch Obituary) WIDMAR, THOMAS D., CEO of Widmar/Garnant and Associates, Inc., a local public relations firm, died of cancer Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at his home. He was 67 years old. Mr. Widmar is survived by his wife, Beverly Garnant; three daughters, Karen Gallina, Mary Brungardt and Susan Mimlitz; and seven grandchildren. Prior to starting his own firm in 1976, Mr. Widmar had been employed by two other local PR agencies. He served as director of public relations at Cornell College, Mt. Vernon, IA from 1968 to 1972 and as director of public relations for the International Chiropractors Association prior to that. Mr. Widmar was the editor and publisher of Fly Fishing Heritage from 1987 to 1990. In 1997, Mr. Widmar opened Small Indulgences, a gift shop and gallery in Richmond Heights with two of his daughters. Mr. Widmar was a 1960 graduate of Washington University with a B.A. in journalism. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.A memorial service will be held Friday, August 24, at Mt.
