Coffey's Sparkle Minnow Material List and Tying Instructions
Hook:	#4 streamer hook 2xl
Bead:	3/16" tungsten bead
Lead:	.035 lead wire, 12-20 turns on hook shank
Thread:	Clear monofilament or 6/0 to match body
Tail:	Marabou, 2 times hook shank length
Flash:	Krystal Flash 4-8 strands on each side of tail
Under- Body:	dubbed Lite Brite, to cover up the lead
Body:	Lite Brite, chopped in 3/8"-1/2" lengths and spun in a dubbing loop
Add the bead, wind the lead, and attach your thread. Next add the marabou tail, and 4-8 strands of Krystal Flash on each side of the tail. Pinch dub a thin underbody of Lite Brite, then wind your thread back to the hook bend and form a 10" long dubbing loop. Hook a dubbing whorl to the bottom of the loop, then grab a pinch of chopped Lite Brite about half the size of a cotton ball. Pinch pull and roll the chopped Lite Brite with your fingers to align the fibers in the same direction then load up the dubbing loop. Spin the Lite Brite in the dubbing loop and wrap forward, finish the fly, go fishing. Do not use head cement since it will melt the Lite Bright. You can tie this fly in any number of colors, and even blend different colors, but my most successful colors have been brown/orange, peacock/olive, white, chartreuse, and black. Gavin Poppen
