Teacher of the Year

| In evaluating an individual for this award, we envision an individual who takes the extra step to make sure that people enjoy and appreciate our sport. We believe that Jerry Clark of the Ozark Fly Fishers fits this mold and more. Jerry is a certified casting instructor with the Federation of Fly Fishers. He has helped countless members of the Ozark Fly Fishers to become better casters and fly tiers. As an advocate for effective casting skills, he has taught and conducted multiple casting classes, games and accuracy competitions for the Southern Council. When the Gone Fishing program in St. Louis, Missouri is in full swing, Jerry is, and has been, a major part of the casting and fly tying classes that the Ozark Fly Fishers support. There have been many, many additional meetings and councils where Jerry has put his two bits in for the many facets of our sport. The one area, however, where Jerry has been absolutely phenomenal in his instructing skills, is his ability and his friendly nature in walking up to anyone either on the stream or in a class and taking the initiative to illustrate how great our sport can be. As far as fly-fishing authorities, instructors and all around good people go, you will not find a better person than Jerry Clark. |
