Lake Taneycomo

Taneycomo is a world class fishery that is open for fishing year-round.  The lake is stocked with rainbow trout and brown trout and is a fly fisherman's dream.  Fishing in the lake can be divided into two sections with special regulations on each section.

Our friend and Corporate Sponsor, Phil Lilley of Lilly's Landing, provided an excellent article on how to fish Taneycomo.  View the article at Taneycomo and visit Phil's web site - OzarkAngler.

Above Fall Creek

Only flies and artificial lures may be used (soft plastic baits and natural scented baits are prohibited) when fishing above the mouth of fall creek.  Four trout (only one may be a brown an it must be at least 20 inches) less than 12 inches or greater than 20 inches may be harvested.  A Missouri fishing permit is required.  If harvesting fish a trout stamp is also required.

Below Fall Creek

All baits are allowed when fishing below the mouth of Fall Creek. Four trout with no slot limit may be harvested.  However, only one may be a brown of at least 20 inches.  A Missouri fishing permit is required.  Also, a trout stamp is required for any fishing above the Highway 65 bridge.
