Gone Fishing Programs 2013

Fly Fishing Techniques

This seminar is designed for the fly fisher who has a working knowledge of casting, knots, and fly patterns. Topics include presentation, wading, playing and releasing fish. Tickets are available at the door only!

Reading the Water for Trout

It is often said that 10 percent of the anglers catch 90 percent of the fish! Smart anglers know that 90 percent of the fish are in just 10 percent of the water. This Ozark Fly Fisher’s course will help you break down the sections of a stream and identify the most likely holding places for fish. Tickets are available at the door only!

 Intro to Fly Fishing

The Ozark Fly Fishers introduce you to fly angling in this comprehensive four-meeting class. Each night learn about another aspect of the great sport of fly fishing. This is the perfect start for budding fly anglers. Advance registration required. Call 314-615-4386.

 Beginning Fly Casting at Tilles Park   (Ages 12+)

This two-part class is for beginners wishing to learn the intricacies of the basic cast. Federation of Fly Fishers certified casting instructors will teach you the casting techniques to get you started in fly casting. Advance registration required. Call 314-615-8371.

 Intermediate Fly Casting at Tilles Park

This three-part class is for those who have mastered the basic cast and is not for beginners! Federation of Fly Fishers certified casting instructors will teach you advanced casting techniques including the mend, wiggle and double haul casts. Advanced registration required. Call 314-615-4386.

Stream Team Level 2 Workshops

The Missouri Stream Team program has announced the 2013 Level 2 Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Workshop Schedule. In order to be eligible to attend, you must have completed the Introductory and Level 1 workshops, submitted stream discharge data where possible, as well as water chemistry and invertebrate data for two seasons. The focus of these workshops will be Quality Assurance Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures to improve the quality of the volunteer data.

Registration MUST be completed by the deadline and can be completed on the Stream Web site Attendance will be limited to 15 people per workshop. Attendees must bring all of their chemical monitoring equipment and any invertebrate specimens they would like assistance in identifying. Questions should be directed to Stream Team 800# (800.781.1989). Registration confirmation and site map will be mailed to registrants prior to the workshop.
